About Outreach

We have many outreach opportunities: elementary school events and demonstrations, KEYs, other day-long events, and Big Sis/Lil' Sis. If you are interested in joining our weekly outreach at an elementary school, email our Outreach Coordinator, Annie Ho, at annieho114@gmail.com.

Elementary School Outreach

Before you participate in elementary school outreach, you must download the following forms, fill them out, and return them to their appropriate destinations:

• Oath Form: Fill out as much as you can and return it to ESS (Engineering Student Services) in Engineering Building I, Room 1400 (first floor across from the elevators) between 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday. This form states that if we should invent anything in the course of our outreach, it belongs to UCSD (naturally). You need to sign this IN THE PRESENCE OF SOMEONE IN ESS.
• Staff Volunteer Employment: Return this to ESS also. This form implies that as a volunteer, UCSD is not obligated to pay you for your services - you are being paid with the satisfaction of giving a helping hand.
• Personal Data Form: In addition to the Oath Form and Staff Volunteer Form, return this form to ESS. This gives information to both the Jacob's School of Engineering and the elementary schools about you and to ensure that you have completed all the paperwork to do outreach. Tedious, I know, but it's gotta be done.

Big Sib/Lil' Sib

Our Big Sib/Lil' Sib program pairs an underclassman with an upperclassman who will act as a mentor, guide, and friend to the underclassman. If you would like to participate as either a Big Sib or a Lil' Sib, please email swe@ucsd.edu with the following information:
